Do NOT try anything you see on this blog. Even lighting a fire in your fireplace can turn tragic. According to the Chimney Safety Institute of America, there are roughly 25,000 chimney fires a year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.csia.org/PressRoom/ChimneyFiresCarbonMonoxideStats/tabid/63/Default.aspx"&gt;http://www.csia.org/PressRoom/ChimneyFiresCarbonMonoxideStats/tabid/63/Default.aspx&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cooking with direct flame is safe enough to be practiced in major restaurants across the country. However, there are always risks, and accidents do happen. Most are caused by people combining fire and stupidity -- and the stupidity is not always on the part of the cook. I guess the moral is, don't be stupid.
